Crystal Palace have emerged as favourites to sign Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, with the England Under-21 international likely to leave before the window closes.

The Ufabet reports that Crystal Palace are keeping a close eye on Chukwuemeka’s situation and are now favourites to sign the 20-year-old midfielder, who Chelsea are expect to consider selling this summer.

Chukwuemeka joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in 2022 for £20m as part of their plan to add young players, but has struggled to make consistent appearances due to two spells of injury and poor performances. Promotion Ufabet making just 27 appearances in two seasons.

It is said that Barcelona are also keen to sign the England U21 international – who Chelsea bought from Aston Villa in a £20m deal back in August 2022.

Chelsea are reportedly open to offers, either on a permanent basis or on loan. But a major problem for other clubs is the 20-year-old midfielder’s current wages. Which are in the region of £115,000-a-week on a contract that runs until 2028.

If Crystal Palace can secure Chukwuemeka, he will become Oliver Glasner’s fourth signing. Following Real Betis centre-back Chadi Read (£14m), Lazio midfielder Daichi Kamada (free) and Marseille winger Ismaila Sarr (£12.5m).
